The All-Purpose CR/Plotting Meme



The meme is open to, as per always, making arrangements with and between:
- Current characters in game.
AND
- Potential characters - any characters you may be planning on apping or reapping (there is a special header for this under the main post).
If you have an app in that has not been processed, please, don't be shy about commenting around for prospective CR and plans on entry - though, of course, remember that plans will be tentative!

For ideas, please consult the Locations, Soft facts & Gossip, British stuff (for all of your "how does this thing work in England???" needs) and NPCs pages, as well as any other game pages. Go to the FAQ to ask questions about potential AUs, characters, setting, game mechanics, etc.

For characters of either status, toss up a comment with your character's reincarnated name, pre-incarnated name, canon, and occupation in the subject line. E.x. "Cinderella | Rarity | My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic | Family Pet" In the body, of course, place any information you see fit; go on ahead and use this form if you'd like a place to start or take it however you feel!

If you don't mind them having been adopted, they could be Mary Ann (whom I. I will app very soon) and her wife's kid? That'd give them two grandfathers (Sky and Sam, who are already in game) and a little sister (Ornella, whose app is currently being processed), too. Assuming everyone else in this constellation is interested, of course.

Salutations! This here is Ornella as was mentioned above. Fellow artistically inclined sibling yes please! Nel here has her sketchbook basically attached to her, and she is a little ball of sunshine most of the time.

Yes good! Feste is also very cheerful so they probably get on super well and they probably like to take her places and do stuff. How old is she?

I imagine they do! And she will dig her heels in trying to keep them from slipping away from morality and empathy.

Nel is 10 years old and has way too much hair. Please take her all the places to have fun!

Would they still be living at home or have their own place?

Yeah I haven't decided what their main thing is... they're a bit scattered and do a bit of everything but they had to pick something to major in. XD

So....please expand upon the notion of an eldritch horror. I am very curious.

Any of it. All of it! I’m curious of appearance, personality, powers, etc!

This is the descriptor I wrote for their True Form:

"In their True Form, they have a humanoid torso, arms, and head, but their skin and hair are ivory, their hair kind of blowing in an invisible wind and not terribly distinct from the rest of their head. Their legs from the knees down resemble those of a predatory bird, like a hawk, with sharp claws at the end. Their hands have similar talons, and they have seven ivory wings with jagged, sharp looking feathers that never seem to beat but they still stay a float above the ground. Their face is mostly human and delicately constructed, with a small nose and pretty mouth, but they have seven eyes that glow an eerie, too-bright blue, filling the whole eye so there is no white or pupil."

Their personality is a bit... scattered. They are the most part very friendly and chatty and like humans, even though humans are kind of dumb and very bad at most things. But they made theater and art so some of them must be ok. Their way of being 'helpful' is usually not great- like 'oh I'm playing Puck in this play? We wouldn't turn Bottom into a donkey, we'd make him some of horrible abomination like this' or 'I don't think you know what you're doing with that soul of yours, it's ok I'll put it in this ring and keep it safe for you!!!' They are also very, very nasty when slighted and will not hesitate to put a curse on someone for an infraction against them.

Also they really like cookies. And cake. And shiny things.

Yeah appearance wise they're pretty tame (they can change it, so it's not the only one they've had, but it's there 'i like humans' one). Powers wise is where they get kind of... terrifying. XD And the lack of morals.

Yes, they could! Mary Ann is 50 now and her and her wife got together over 20 years ago, so if they looked into adopting as soon as they could, they could have adopted Feste in 2002/2003 - they could have been fostering them before then, though, if you'd prefer an even younger age.

(Also due to the them being low key involved in the local queer community, Feste would probably have grown up around that community and at least at home have had a pretty uncomplicated coming out.)

I don't know how it is in the UK (and the fostering links didn't help much with this, because it's not the kind of thing generally advertised) but in the US it's generally easier to adopt if you've been fostering the child first. So maybe they'd had him for a year or so before the adoption could happen?

Yes good. I mentioned this elsewhere, but they probably started asking people to use they pronouns for them about six years ago (so 14-ish).

Well, gay couples weren't allowed to adopt before 2002, so if they fostered Feste before that, they couldn't have been fostering for adoption. But they could still have been fostering them, not expecting to be able to adopt, and then the law changed and Feste's situation changed and it happened anyway. I'm really fine with them having entered the family at any age, so it's entirely up to you!

I defined her attachment to the community as "She's not super involved in the community, but she drops by the Hive sometimes and gets involved when there's political issues to deal with, and she's probably a name being passed around among queer people who'd like to have a GP who gets it." I assume the family has marched in the Pride parade a number of times, especially when the kids were young.

Ah ok! Yeah I mean either way they would probably have been too young to remember much of before living with Mary Ann & co, which is kind of what I want.

tbh I think even as a bitty Feste would have loved Pride. "MOM CAN WE GO DO THE RAINBOW PARADE AGAIN PLEEEEEASE"

[Gil just suggested this:] How about Mary Ann and Janice started fostering Feste when they were a baby or young toddler, and then around 2000 the bio parents started moving towards perhaps releasing them to be adopted. As at the time gay couples adopting was starting to loom at the horizon and this is Mossgate, the UK's queer retirement village aka a place with a queer-friendly administration, the kid was left with the family under the assumption that the law about gay couple adoption would probably come in not too long before or after the kid was available to adopt. And then once both had happened they adopted the kid.

What age do you think was Feste when Mary Ann and Janice got them?/What year did they get them? (Also just for the sake of the reincarnated history - are they maab?)
