Second reincarnation relationship plotting meme

What?

This meme is here to be used as a place to coordinate AUs. Everyone has family, friends, colleagues, people they knew in the past, neighbours, pets, and more.

Fill those relations of your character with other player characters!

The big advantage of having connected AUs is that you start into the game with existing CR. Branch out! We recommend using this chance to forge cross-canon pre-CR, which will then make any further CR easier - ties with canonmates will, in our experience, be forged quickly enough even with no pre-CR at all.

For whom?

Feel free to comment here with a separate comment for any character you are planning on apping with some level of certainty (you don't need to be decided yet, but out of courtesy to your fellow players, please don't throw characters on here that you doubt you'll app - "probably yes"/"if I can get a good idea" is okay, "probably not"/"only if the stars align just right" isn't). Don't be shy about commenting around for prospective CR and plans on game start - though, of course, remember that plans will be tentative!

How to:

Toss up a comment with your character's pre-incarnated name, canon, and AU occupation in the subject line. E.x. "Rarity | My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic | Family Pet". In the body, of course, place any information you see fit; go on ahead and use this form if you'd like a place to start or take it however you feel!

Pre-Incarnation: Papyrus / Undertale

A short blurb about your character's AU: Russell's a longtime theatre kid in his mid-20s from Moss Manor, having been involved with everything from props and set design to playing supporting roles since secondary school. He went to university for literature, and spent a couple semesters in America (as my cunning way to explain linguistic slips - he's picked up a bunch of Americanisms). Lives now in Mossgate in an apartment with ever-revolving roommates, and works a variety of temporary part-time jobs to pay the bills as he tries to make an acting career happen.

He's the sort of guy who wears costumes around town, be it from the latest performance or whatever cosplay he's enthusiastic about. Every couple of months he's idolizing somebody, reinventing his image to emulate them, and your character may be next! I'm still working out what his first echo might be, and haven't made many decisions about his family yet (besides having some Italian ancestry).

Open/Wanted CR: Current or former roommates, relatives, friends from school, and people he's worked with are all good options! People he's looked up to, and thus emulated to some degree, would be especially helpful for working out the rest of my app.

Anything else? Without his brother, he's a little less self-confident, and I admit it makes for a slightly Burgerpants!Papyrus, but I had to. He quotes Hamlet while dying, on top of his various theatrical and artistic tendencies. There'll probably be bad skeleton war jokes down the road, too.

ROOMMATES? That's my first thought, anyway. Possibly former roommates - Walter's the shyer type, and interrupting him when he's in the Zone on an IT project is never a smart idea. He's gotten lots of practice at at least acting less anxious than he feels at any one time, he tries to be optimistic... and he can, ahem, work a pun or two. So if Papyrus would try to emulate that, I guess he could?

Considering Walter's been (back in) Mossgate for the past two years, they've likely at least crossed paths.

Roommates or former roommates could work pretty well. He respects peoples' privacy enough not to go in their rooms without permission, but there could easily have been a couple of incidents of knocking on the door while in the Zone. Especially if he was under the impression Walter was neglecting other things, like eating timely meals.

I'll need to think about the emulation side. I'm thinking Russell tends to emulate louder, more confident people than himself - if they're likeable and he behaves like them he'll be liked too, right?? But he appreciates wordplay, especially stuff he hasn't heard before.

... Wordplay jams would definitely be a thing. This Netizen may or may not study them in his free time.

Though he'd probably appreciate the reminders to eat. >.>

Studying is slightly more effort than Russell puts into it, so it'll be easy enough to impress him with them.

Reminders to eat are 100% on the table, probably accompanied by offerings of (simple, microwaved) meals to make it easier to just grab something and go. They're probably 'health' food options, though.

As long as at least one of them keeps remembering to buy fruit, they'll be all set! ;)

Theatre child! Let Rafe come ~~boss you around~~ friend you.

Rafe is a theatre child too, but couldn't pursue acting due to muscular dystrophy. Those who can't, teach, right? So he's a drama teacher now.

I'd be happy to have him as a former classmate and even longstanding friend, if you want! Or they could meet in other ways.

I like the idea of Rafe ~~bossing him around~~ being a bit of a mentor to him back in secondary school, and friends since then.

It could work pretty pretty well for both of them - it looks like Rafe's two years older than Russell? That's close enough to have been going to school during the same time, involved in the same clubs... Giving Rafe some experience with tutoring younger folks in acting before muscular dystrophy became a factor, and give Papyrus somebody more experienced to watch and imitate in hopes of succeeding.

Heck yes! C'mere, Russell, let's be great friends! :D

Ben’s great aunts are patrons of the theatre for certain, and would always show up on opening nights.

If you want extended family around, Agatha is Benjiro’s family by blood, but Rosemary has no set relation to anyone yet.

Oooh, I like that. Rosemary could be a cousin or aunt of Russell's mother - she's the English side of the family - making Rosemary a second cousin or great aunt to him. That's close enough for Russell and Rosemary to know each other through family reunions and weddings and things, distant enough that it's the theatre interest that really connects them.

Would Ben go along with them to any opening nights, once he's living with Agatha and Rosemary, or stick more to his own hobbies and studies?

Terrific! How about second cousin to Russell?

There is no way Rosemary would let Benjiro miss out on the theatre. He would have been with them for each opening night in the last year.

Future wise, Ikshu might be dragging Ben in to help with props at times, so there’s more opportunity for him to interact with the stage folk.

That works for me, and that's some good opportunities for these two to meet (probably not for the first time) in a personal context as the game moves forward.

I'm wrapping up my app, and planning to get it in before the end of the week!

Snap, I'm making Ariel here from the same place and she's 25. Schoolmates y/n? Unlikely friends (she's kind of. aggressive. in this reincarnation) or they don't get along, either is fine!

If they're both Moss Manor kids so close in age, then schoolmates for sure! Not classmates, though, unless Ariel would have skipped a grade? I just looked into it, and UK schools use the end of August for their cutoff date (Russell, as a July baby, was among the youngest of his class).

If her aggressiveness comes across like self confidence, he might have at least tried to be her friend. How well they succeeded...
