What?

This meme is here to be used as a place to coordinate AUs. Everyone has family, friends, colleagues, people they knew in the past, neighbours, pets, and more.

Fill those relations of your character with other player characters!

The big advantage of having connected AUs is that you start into the game with existing CR. Branch out! We recommend using this chance to forge cross-canon pre-CR, which will then make any further CR easier - ties with canonmates will, in our experience, be forged quickly enough even with no pre-CR at all.

Feel free to comment here with a separate comment for any character you are planning on apping with some level of certainty (you don't need to be decided yet, but out of courtesy to your fellow players, please don't throw characters on here that you doubt you'll app - "probably yes"/"if I can get a good idea" is okay, "probably not"/"only if the stars align just right" isn't). Don't be shy about commenting around for prospective CR and plans on game start - though, of course, remember that plans will be tentative!

How to:

Pre-Incarnation: Nam Shin III - Are You Human Too? aka Korean drama about a sweet robot who ends up deciding he doesn't want to ever be human ever.

A short blurb about your character's AU: Nam Sung-jae aka Jay Nam is the younger of the twin heirs/troublemakers of the sprawling PK Conglomerate - best known for their high-end cars but also has had some of the best minds in robotics under their greasy wings. He and his twin are known as hot-headed playboys, with the younger considered the 'nicer' of the two in that he may actually sometimes not start yelling at people for standing in his way like the older twin often does. While their tempers are a fact, it is also a fact that they both inherited their mother's talents for robotics and thus securing them spots in the company's Robotic Futures Departments despite grumbles about their irresponsible habits. After an incident involving the twins in a club brawl that went viral (the highlight of the brawl showing them punching a woman), the company officially has placed them overseas which is how Jay ends up in Mossgate. Officially, he is suppose to be working on the technology for upgrades on the PK M-car - an automatic car with a built-in health monitoring system - while scouting out potential professionals for the company's robot brain tank.

Unofficially? This is suppose to be his punishment for the confusion after the brawl that let his older brother escape their grandfather's control and disappear.

Jay is use to being under heavy surveillance thanks to living under his mentally abusive grandfather, so gaining his trust in anything is not easy. The only people he absolutely trusts are his twin, that twin's personal secretary and their personal trainer. Everyone else are subjected to the prickly arrogance that are the twins' trademark default state. Under the arrogance is a traumatized, lonely young man that never really let anyone close in fear they will kill him over something he doesn't care for.

Open/Wanted CR: While he has the potential for gaining a ton of enemies, I want to see him get some positive CR so his more softer, sweeter, cinnamon roll self (ie the robot he really is) to shine through. Also would love to see any other people from his canon, especially the human Nam Shin, his girlfriend Kang So Bong, the secretary Ji Young Hoon, mom Laura Oh, and so on. Otherwise most of the positions in his family are open tho I want to keep his grandfather's slot closed since a lot of his trauma stems from that guy. But otherwise, co-workers, people who hate him, people who never heard of him but have seen the video, people who confuse him for his brother (they play up their near identical appearance to the point of being creepy because fff their grandfather's ways), and people in general.

Anything else? I had ideas of apping as a different character but RL got in the way then this show got in my head, and I love the idea of making the robot and the human into twins.

I, for one, am all for this Independent Contractor being unwittingly scouted! And also inadvertently becoming frands. :>

How'd you like to befriend the internet, Nam Shin?

Considering that during the course of the show he befriends a roomba and an automatic car, I'm pretty sure NS3 isn't above friending the internet.

... I need to watch this show.

It's got some issues and the female lead does grate at first but the show is really good with how the characters change in places. The ending does get rushed unfortunately but that happens with time slot getting crimped for other things.

NS3 is such a sweet AI robot who's biggest wish is to live with humans as himself. He's so earnest and delighted in how much his AI grows the more he interacts with people and he just does things like casually learn how to play a piano because someone asks him if he can. Just so sweet.

Yeah; I've seen that happen with Western cartoons, too. :< It's a shame.

... I want to hug him already. (And Webmind could probably relate - he learned an entire language overnight so the information processing professional he was talking with didn't have to converse with him in anything other than his native language (Japanese)!)

It is such a dang shame. They had a huge budget for this show and a post production time to edit it for best impact but then stuff happened. It could have had at least one more episode at least.

He likes hugs! One of his first prime directives made by his 'mother' is to hug her when she cries. (Short background is that he was created by a robotics AI pioneer whoes husband died under mysterious circumstances and whose son was taken by his grandfather to be raised. She makes an AI robot to replace the son, tweaking him in three stages until we get NS3 who is light years ahead of robotics and AI and yet is kept isolated until the human Nam Shin is almost killed.)

Oh no! D= That's so sad.

And Awww, Nam. ;; That's... both adorable and concerning, really.

Well it is brought up in the show over what is human - the injured human Nam Shin or the robot Nam Shin, which one is worth being 'alive' and it goes on to talk about what is really human how can you judge what humanity is. It gets pretty interesting when NS3 and HNS start interacting because you can see how the influences of their upbringing affects them, and not just because NS3 is an AI robot that has certain parameters programmed in him. I mean he spends parts of the show questioning who he is is in the face of being a robotic copy of human Nam Shin, and how people see him in the face of him replacing the human while he is recovering.
