Plotting posts are here to
- serve as digests, to get everyone back up to speed with what is going on in the game by providing up-to-date information on plot and setting
- provide a space to ask questions about interactions with the setting and plot
- offer a venue where players can plot with the mods so that together we can make Save Our Earth as interactive as possible. Plot that has not yet happened is malleable; if player characters interact with it, it may just steer in a different direction from what the mods expected.

General/OOC notes:
- Player conversations have made us aware of a misunderstanding that we'd like to clear up. As a rule, only those items on the "Events that will (potentially) occurr in the future" list that are labeled [Mingle] will receive a mod mingle. Everything else can happen at any time during the two months that the setting interactions post covers, unless a specific timeframe is stated. Players are requested to make posts about these things themselves, if they wish to interact with them. So to take the last setting interactions post as an example: While the earthquake would get a mod mingle, the items returning to people was a plot that people were supposed to interact with at their own pace.
- Since, however, this miscommunication is in big part on us mods for not being clearer on the labeling system, there will be a mingle this month that covers the returned items plot point.
Events that occurred recently:
- In early February, an earthquake hit the Mossgate boundary, with the epicentre being located at the mouth of the Moss river.
This led to Jimmy (lovedramamoron) researching earthquakes in the area and finding a series of earthquakes, including two major ones, took time a bit before the Norman Conquest with an epicentre that must have been located somewhere in the south tip of Kent or in the Channel nearby.
It also led to Sadie (dragoonrouge), Ben (
warped_replica) and Walter (
iamnotgod) investigating the mouth of the river for signs of the cause of the earthquake. Sadie dove to the floor of the river at the very centre of the echo boundary and there felt something like a vibration that sounded in her bones and very slowly swelled and diminished in her very physical being. There was a strong urge to align her breathing to the rhythm of the sensation. When running a hand over the ground of the riverbed, it felt less thick the closer she got to the centre of the echo boundary. Sadie then decided to hit that spot at the centre with magic, and received an echo with massive strong side effects for her trouble. Not long after, the tiniest tsunami wave rolled up the river. And as Walter learned later, from this time onwards small tremors shook the area near the Sea Forts.
- A lot of plot information was shared ICly at the first physical meeting of all the Numbered in Tarwich.
- Sadie punching the plot with magic led to a significant tsunami wave hitting the shore of Mossgate and pressing up the river to hit Tarwich as well on February 24th. A good deal of damage was done to the town, but luckily there were very few casualities.
Events that will (potentially, pending player actions) occurr in the future:
- [Mingle] A mingle covering the returned items plot will go up! To recap the returned items: Various items will be returned to people. Those who have lost small items around the echo boundary might find them in their mailbox. Those who had something stolen from them inside the echo boundary might find it returned to their mailbox or doorstep, too. But it doesn't end there: Items that were just left behind, like a time capsule buried in the ground or an unwanted present from great-grand aunt Marge that was "accidentally" left on the bus, might find their way back to people in the same way.
- [Mingle] On mother's day (March 31st), everyone in the echo boundary (who is human) will get a special something for this special day. Something totally thoughtful and individual. Definitely.
- [Mingle] Everyone who is, owns, or lives around a dog or cat will make an unusual encounter.
- [Mingle] Easter, of course, comes with something too.
- 18 April-22 of April is spring term holidays, so the kids will be released into the wild... or something like that. Also on Easter Sunday, all stores are closed.
- [Mingle] On April 23rd, there's a St George's Day parade in Mossgate.
Potential Plot Echo Opportunities
- The mother's day gift.
- The unusual encounter.

Lost and Found Question
Re: Lost and Found Question
The second day, all pencils will be returned with a worried note attached that reads "Make sure to store your pencils safely."
After that, no pencils will be returned until the day before Mother's Day, on which he'll find all remaining pencils that were lost, again with a note. This time it details the places where he "lost" them, and tells him to look there first if he loses pencils again.
Re: Lost and Found Question
Re: Lost and Found Question
The handwriting is that of an older person, the neat cursive that can be found in the 55+ generation. It almost seems too neat - it's very even and letters always look pretty much exactly the same, despite the blank paper the lines never rise or fall, and such. It's clearly handwriting and not printed, though.
Returned Items Brainstorming
Some ideas for, say, lost theatre props?
And the second puts out "A transparent red wine glass (fitting in with the above), Colorful pipettes, Medical syringe, Lipsticks of various colours,
and a Santa Claus Model".
