Plotting posts are here to
- serve as digests, to get everyone back up to speed with what is going on in the game by providing up-to-date information on plot and setting
- provide a space to ask questions about interactions with the setting and plot
- offer a venue where players can plot with the mods so that together we can make Save Our Earth as interactive as possible. Plot that has not yet happened is malleable; if player characters interact with it, it may just steer in a different direction from what the mods expected.
Please direct all questions, suggestions and anything else addressed to the mods to toplevel titled "Talk to a Mod" and not to the post in general.
The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.
General/OOC notes:
- Going forward, AC will be changed slightly so as to be simpler to tally. It will not matter any more now how old a thread is, all that counts is that all comments submitted are from the current month.
- Going forward, we're moving into the mid-section of Season 1. This means that that it will be increasingly more rewarding for characters to prod the setting. So if your character would like to look into anything, no matter if during a mingle or unrelated to one, please talk to Kira-mod and she'll get back to you with a result of the prodding.
Events that occurred recently:
- Walter (
iamnotgod), Sadie (
dragoonrouge) and Sam (
scarsolderthanyou) were interviewed by colleagues of Super Mahira Khan from London about the mystery man that they encountered in connection with the WW2 bomb. - Various people dug around for information. Russell (
spaghettimonster) learned that the spiders from the Halloween event had been stolen from facilities all over Kent and Sussex. Ben (
warped_replica) learned learned a few things about Mahira Khan. Sadie (
dragoonrouge) observed curious going-ons at the site of the cancelled bonfire which apparently involved radioactive material.- All of the echo boundary got covered in poppies, and tons of bluebirds showed up over the cliffs.
- People made each other aware of some of their physical changes.
- While investigating the echo boundary, Russell (
spaghettimonster) and Walter (
iamnotgod) speculated about the centre of the echo boundary.- A shopping centre Santa Claus handed out surprising presents: Sadie (
dragoonrouge received a pair of accurate, if retro, prescription glasses. Feste (
fairfeste) got a a CD version of Final Cut Pro, compatible with all operating systems, which normally only exists as online subscription and only works on two operating systems. It seemed otherwise legit, though. And Nel got, as desired, (
vernal_miss) several pockets of special seeds - very special, indeed. - Chaos broke out in southern Kent as around Christmas a winter wonderland descended on the area and everyone found themselves absolutely not equipped to deal with that much snow.
- On Christmas Day, every household in the echo boundary found stockings filled with coal, one for each household member, hanging from their fireplace or oven. Sam (
scarsolderthanyou) found a familiar scent on them: That of the mystery man that him and others met a while ago at the site of the bomb from WW2. - All of the echo boundary got covered in poppies, and tons of bluebirds showed up over the cliffs.
Events that will (potentially) occurr in the future:
- [Mingle] In the second half of January, a minor earthquake will shake Mossgate. The usual responses can be found among the wider population, but the Numbered will start to feel a bit anxious: Unsettled, but also a bit excited, and even those who would not normally be driven to investigate will feel a gentle pull to get to the source of that feeling. It can be ignored, but there's certainly a general feeling of suspense among the Numbered. Sky will notice something on top of that.
- You know those weird people who do do bag their dog's shit, but instead of taking it home or to the next bin leave the little black bag next to the road/path? And the increased weirdness that occurrs when those people decide to hang it in bushes and trees next ot the road/path? Well, people like that exist in Mossgate Council, too. But weirdly enough they seem to be increasing. All around the echo boundary, more and more black bags with dog shit can be found hanging in trees near popular dog walking routes. Not to a degree where it is strictly weird, but enough so that it is noticeable. Is this a new trend?
- People who have a sense that lets them track scent or aura or whatever else might find the same scent/aura/etc that they found on the coal stockings around town. There seems to be no pattern as to where it can be found, aside from it always being public places. If someone wants to attempt to track it, please contact Kira-mod!
- Various items will be returned to people. Those who have lost small items around the echo boundary might find them in their mailbox. Those who had something stolen from them inside the echo boundary might find it returned to their mailbox or doorstep, too. But it doesn't end there: Items that were just left behind, like a time capsule buried in the ground or an unwanted present from great-grand aunt Marge that was "accidentally" left on the bus, might find their way back to people in the same way.
- In February, there might be another earthquake, NPC encounters, and/or at least one SoL mingle. It all depends on what characters do until then.
Potential Plot Echo Opportunities
- People digging into the source of the earthquake or the source of the other unusual events around town might encounter something that gives them a plot echo.

If he ever takes IC action to contact someone about it, feel free to poke me for more info/an NPC thread.
Re: Talk to a mod
If I've gotten the wrong idea in my head about where this question should go, or am making it out to be more complex than it actually is, please correct me. |D
This is tied to the earthquake plot.

Re: Talk to a mod
... Does this qualify as a lucky break for Walter, or a well-functioning Chekov's Gun?
