PLOT DIGEST AND SETTING INTERACTIONS POST

Plotting posts are here to

• serve as digests, to get everyone back up to speed with what is going on in the game by providing up-to-date information on plot and setting
  
• provide a space to ask questions about interactions with the setting and plot
  
• offer a venue where players can plot with the mods so that together we can make Save Our Earth as interactive as possible. Plot that has not yet happened is malleable; if player characters interact with it, it may just steer in a different direction from what the mods expected.

Please direct all questions, suggestions and anything else addressed to the mods to toplevel titled "Talk to a Mod" and not to the post in general.

The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.

Events that occurred recently:

• The Summer Fête took place. Rafe (fracturedbeauty), Chi (darkmagiciangirl) and Sadie (dragoonrouge) spoke to a little lady who sold Dormouse inspired items, and at least Sadie bought some of her goods. Chi, Jim (tobodlygo) and Kitty (runs) stole a cake from the contest while Nanny (grainneog) entered Chad (channingchanningchanning) into the pet contest. Rafe and Russell (spaghettimonster) were active at the theatre booth.
  
• Backdated to July 1st, Sam (scarsolderthanyou) and Walter (iamnotgod) publicly figured out the echo boundary.
  
• Jacob (brofistsforall) made it official that memories and other things are happening to the Numbered.
  
• Many characters went on guided tours of the tunnels. Jim found a fresh breeze in the tunnels. Sadie and Ben (warped_replica) found some very damp tunnels. [Potentially tbc.]
  
• Pride took place, and a mysterious cake appeared in the path of the parade. Various characters ate from it and got high.

Events (potentially) occurring in the immediate future:

• A bomb from the war is found during building works and the area has to be evacuated. People may be affected through their school, the shop they work at, their home, or whatever else being located in the evacuation zone. They may also be affected through volunteering to help with keeping people out of the area, evacuate seniors from a care home, host evacuees, help with the emergency shelters in school gyms, or other such efforts. They could also just be bystanders that get interviewed or whatever else, really. Hit us up if you have an idea and want to doublecheck it, but also just feel free to go ahead with whatever you can come up with!
  
  During this event, characters may have an interesting encounter. It's not dangerous and accessible to all ages and abilities, the only requirement is that they can be on the High Street after dark. If you are interested, please sign up here; if there are more than two people interested, we'll RNG the results. You can also sign up as a group!
  
  
• The controlled detonation from the bomb damaged the roof of the town museum, and a fundraiser is started to foot the repairs. The museum also uses this fundraiser as a chance for general outreach and puts out the word that really, almost anyone can volunteer there and work as a guide or ticket seller or... don't you want to volunteer?
  
  
• Summer is finally ending, the temperatures are dropping into the tens and there are sensible amounts of rain again though it isn't properly sunny yet. The sea is growing stormier.
  
  
• Pinewood Studios is looking for extras for some seafront scenes of a 19th century drama they're going to film in front of the white cliffs. They've put out a casting call and will be casting locals throughout October.

Sam is definitely out after dark during the bomb event, basically patrolling for troublemakers, and in fact investigating the bomb itself at some point. So, volunteering! Belatedly.

* I will be throwing him at that post about the Bomb. General conclusion via plotting on plurk is that they're near enough to the High Street to be nervous, but Walter and Russell don't have to move. He'll be trying not to get interviewed, though. In a similar vein, he won't be auditioning to be an extra for that film.

* He will also be volunteering a little with that fundraiser it's not quite a hobby, but...!

* His birthday is October 6th, so if anyone wants to do something for that hit me up!

* Otherwise... possibly experimenting with the Network further/his own mental limits, engaging with current CR... and as always, he's still doing IT work! Bless his soul.

I kid. He can make some better contacts since I think the plastic should hold longer than the actual mechanisms beneath. Though that may require a whole new keyboard (wireless or USB) to be made since he cannot get to Walter’s laptop in enough time.

General plotting for Kitty and Chad

Bomb: Chad's house will be in the evacuation zone during the bomb threat. At least some of his Family will be needing a place, so if anyone is interested in hosting or bunking down next to a rather colourful family of three adults, a gaggle of children and one dog, let's plot! Kitty's family will be accepting displaced people as they have a few free beds right now, and she's probably going to feel crowded by strangers and spend much time hitting up her usual hang-outs so Sky, Ben, and Nanny can look forward to lots of visits if they aren't evacuated themselves.

Fundraiser: Kitty will be trying to make them train her into a museum guide and be very unimpressed that they tell her that she's too young, but wouldn't she like to participate in the children's program... She's still going to be out and about trying to raise money on the High Street.

Bomb related > Ben is confined to the house until his external exclusion is over, so he won’t be able to assist. He should be able to return to school the following week (October 1st). In that time, he will keep busy with the schoolwork Sadie delivers for him and spending time with Kitty. Maybe occasionally distracting Walter from his work.

Museum related > Ben is very public shy with what happened at school and not about to volunteer without some serious prodding. He will donate, and if he can help behind the scenes, will absolutely do so.

Personal plans > Ben will make his first visits to the local junkyard and gather scrap and parts for his first big invention project. As a way to speed his travel around town without relying on a bus, he will build himself an exceptionally efficient motorcycle.
