PLOT DIGEST AND SETTING INTERACTIONS POST

Plotting posts are here to

• serve as monthly digests, to get everyone back up to speed with what is going on in the game by providing up-to-date information on plot and setting (this function will start next month)
  
• provide a space to ask questions about interactions with the setting and plot
  
• offer a venue where players can plot with the mods so that together we can make Save Our Earth as interactive as possible. Plot that has not yet happened is malleable; if player characters interact with it, it may just steer in a different direction from what the mods expected.
  
• this month, please also use this post as a means of introducing yourselves, say hi to one another, and do last-minute relationship plotting.

Please direct all questions, suggestions and anything else addressed to the mods to the toplevel titled "Talk to a mod" and not to the post in general.

The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.

General/OOC notes:

• Please make sure that you have completed all steps detailed in the acceptance note, including making an info post, getting on the Taken list and the Player contact, and requesting membership in the two comms.
  
• (Quite obviously) there will be no AC this month. The first AC will be July AC, which will run through the end of July.

Events that are occurring currently:

• The game will open with a music-and-fireworks open-air event crowned by the rare sight of Northern Lights over Mossgate. This event will cause a plot echo in every Numbered present within the echo boundary at the time. Keep an eye out for the opening mingle, which will officially start gameplay!

Events (potentially) occurring in the future:
We will start gameplay with a few SoL events to let players get a feeling for the setting and to give characters time to figure out their new situation, though some pieces of plot will already be present (in form of NPCs, for example) and can be encountered if someone prods the right bits. The intervals at which those SoL events happen will depend on the general speed of the game.

• An artist over in France releases thousands of little yellow ducks into the Channel, choosing the location and time so as to make sure that most of them will be carried to England by currents and tides. A large portion of them end up in Mossgate, and media presence, clean-up, and anything else that follows from it causes some excitement.
  
• The menagerie at Moss Manor is having a situation as all the petting zoo animals have broken out, and player characters can be dragged into helping with fixing the situation. Hit us up if your character would be volunteering/working at this zoo or otherwise be already present when this happens!
  
• And all throughout that, preparations for Pride (scheduled for August) are intensifying. Most local companies and institutions are going to participate in one way or the other, so it is likely that characters will be involved through school, work, volunteering - Boots is preparing a make-up workshop for trans women, the local cinema will be showing LGBTQ+ films, the city museum is going to put up its yearly exhibit additions about queer history in Mossgate, and so on and so forth.

Salutations! I like to go by inkyghoul or Demi, and I live in the eastern US timezone. I work full time in the medical field, so how many hours I put in a week varies and will limit my activity some weeks (at least during the work week). However! I will devote my free moments to my dear sweet Benjiro Thorne. He is a 17 year old attending 6th Form College by day, and entertaining video game fans by night on his Twitch stream. In his last life, he wasn’t so kind as a clone made to kill his original. A mutant clone of a mutant. Also slightly alien. Oh, and definitely a turtle.

Despite his lack of an extroverted personality, his great aunts will make sure he does not miss out on opportunities. He is very likely to be involved in all three events, especially the last to hang out with his aunts. As far as the menagerie goes, he’ll be best suited to assisting with any damage repair, not rounding up animals. The nerd is very helpful and loves to fix things....but not so good with animals.

Echo-wise, he has superhuman reflexes and will be regaining his first clear memory ninja skill at the opening event.
