First reincarnation relationship plotting meme

What?

This meme is here to be used as a place to coordinate AUs. Everyone has family, friends, colleagues, people they knew in the past, neighbours, pets, and more.

Fill those relations of your character with other player characters!

The big advantage of having connected AUs is that you start into the game with existing CR. Branch out! We recommend using this chance to forge cross-canon pre-CR, which will then make any further CR easier - ties with canonmates will, in our experience, be forged quickly enough even with no pre-CR at all.

For ideas, please consult the Locations, Soft facts & Gossip, British stuff and NPCs pages, as well as any other game pages. Go here to ask questions about potential AUs, characters, game mechanics, etc.

For whom?

Feel free to comment here with a separate comment for any character you are planning on apping with some level of certainty (you don't need to be decided yet, but out of courtesy to your fellow players, please don't throw characters on here that you doubt you'll app - "probably yes"/"if I can get a good idea" is okay, "probably not"/"only if the stars align just right" isn't). Don't be shy about commenting around for prospective CR and plans on game start - though, of course, remember that plans will be tentative!

Pre-Incarnation: Marja Virtanen / Mage: The Ascension / Old World of Darkness

A short blurb about your character's AU: Marja's family moved from Finland to the UK when she was little. She grew up in the area (Tarwich?) and after finishing her training to be a GP returned to work in a Health Centre in Mossgate. She lives in either Moss Manor or Folkton, has a wife and a child/children. That's about what I have right now. I'm flexible on pretty much everything, really, except for her age, which should be 46 or very close to it.

Open/Wanted CR: A wife! Children! She's old enough to have any age of schoolage children. Patients! People who come to her GP practice would be a really easy way to get low-key CR that we can build on later. General family would be great, too. Fellow cat lovers!
Also it'd be great if she could have CR with any people whose preincarnations are mages/wizards/witches/etc, for echo and "let's figure this out together" purposes.

Given Walter's medical situation (FtM trans, on meds, NOT interested in surgery), having a good relationship with the local GP people would probably be a good thing for him. >.> He's the polite sort, tries to be cheerful and make jokes, more than happy to help with tech stuff, that sort of thing.

His preincarnation is about as far from wizard as you can get, though. His reincarnation, however, will be all for trying to solve this secret Network thing.

Yeah, she could easily be his GP - since she's LGBT+ herself, I could see there being one of those self-enforcing effects where her name gets around the community and thus more people ask to see her specifically, and thus her name gets around...

Pre-Incarnation: Nanny Ogg | Discworld
A short blurb about your character's AU: See her app for more details, but Nanny will not be very different from canon, aside from being older (95) and not being a witch. She has been more or less retired for a long time, and currently lives with her grandson, Shaun, in Mossgate, but before that lived all of her life in Folkton. She has an extremely large and extremely extended family, not least because she was a midwife and did some childcare, so she has taken care of plenty of children that weren't her own.

Open/Wanted CR: All of the family. Please, please, please, join her family - there's plenty of it. Absolutely especially, if anyone really wants to be tormented, Shaun's wife would be an open spot.

For those who want to be related but not too related (which is perfectly reasonable), she was very visible around Folkton until she was convinced to move in with Shaun For Her Health ~~and certainly not for his~~. She was a midwife, and helped plenty of mums around the village, with childhood, babies, and child care for older children, and the school is very well populated with her own children and grandchildren. Pretty much anyone in the village would have had a hard time avoiding her.

Finally, any other old ladies who want to be part of her social club, who enjoy a bit of a gossip and a good laugh and a sing song, would be absolutely loved!

Anything else? Nanny's family will always be open for anyone who wants to play a member of it, all the way through the game's run.

Volunteering Walter for one of those children whose mums she helped! He's 27, mind, and was born Mollicrux Weekes... So there's, uh. Been a shift.

Pre-Incarnation: Major Channing Channing of the Chesterfield Channings / Parasol Protectorate

A short blurb about your character's AU: Chad is a Family pet - as in, he's a white Pomeranian (a tiny purebred dog) who lives with his owner above an Italian restaurant in Mossgate that said owner helps run. The restaurant is a mafia front. He's 10 and was a stud originally but got retired many years ago and given to his current owner as a present. He echoed sentience about a year before game start. He sometimes wanders around the restaurant on his own, so patrons might know him.

Open/Wanted CR: His owner! Any mafia members attached to the restaurant. Dogsitters! If someone is thinking about a white Pomeranian breeder (good white Pomeranians apparently come from specialized breeders? the things you learn through RP) background, I'd be interested in knowing where he came from, too, and maybe doing something with it later. Patrons or other people that would know him. Other dogs that he could bond with/have rivalries with.

Anything else? Chad isn't as much of an arrogant pompous twat as Channing, but he still thinks way too highly of himself, so it'd be hilarious if people encountered him as a cute, well behaved dog and then later had to deal with his personality once he learns how to communicate...

Pre-Incarnation: Lord Akeldama | Parasol Protectorate

A short blurb about your character's AU: Alexander will be an old campaigner for gay rights who has retired to Mossgate to run a bar/cafe/club (the Hive) in the centre of town. He's still the life and soul of the party, and always has an ear for gossip, and despite having technically retired from campaigning and politics, is still a little bit more involved in local politics than he'd like to admit. His reincarnation history is up on his app (although the rest of it I still need to work on).

Open/Wanted CR: Staff at the Hive! He hires his bar staff/waiters based on looks (~~and will flirt thoroughly with any men on the team~~), so that would particularly be open to anyone young, pretty, and fashionable. He also has a female co-manager, who is his grounding force/disciplinarian/guidance for the tastes of his female customers which would be open (although preferably to someone who is above thirty and lesbian/bisexual/etc.)

Also, any similarly old LGBT folks who want to be part of his gossip circle and/or old/current lovers.

Anything else? I am really up in the air about Akeldama/Alexander and Glorfindel/Gabriel at the moment. I almost certainly will only end up putting one of them in (as much as I adore both of them, I can't trust myself to play three characters, and they're a little too similar situationally to be fun to have both in). Part of my decision will come from what CR they have, partly from the test drive, and partly from who is strongest when the game opens.

Have Walter, a not-quite-smol transman who does not know how to handle flirting. =D He'd do his best to at least know the local scene, even though he's not exactly participating...

Pre-Incarnation: Glorfindel | Middle-earth

A short blurb about your character's AU: I'm resetting Gabriel from StE, so once again, he'll have been a model in his teenage years, and then taken to activism and campaigning, and using modelling along side to gather media attention. His completed app is here.

Open/Wanted CR: Model friends! Charity/campaigner friends/co-workers! Anyone who works in media that he could have working/friendly connections with! Local friends/neighbours!

If anyone would like particularly close CR with him, then the best spot would be as his manager and/or assistant, or as an old friend. The CR around him is very flexible and open!

Anything else? I am really up in the air about Akeldama/Alexander and Glorfindel/Gabriel at the moment. Pre-Incarnation: Ankh | Kamen Rider OOO aka hobo jesus and his angry bird friend with a bunch of coins
A short blurb about your character's AU: Once upon a time, a teenage hoodlum and dropout decided to say screw the town life and left. She had many adventures and some of them in other parts of the world until she settled down married to a guy who may or may not be yakuza but still was a loving and caring husband to his strange goofy wife. They have four kids and this guy - one [ insert name here ] - is the baby of the four. While his siblings all fitting in easily with the rest of the family, he just didn't feel like he belonged as much even if he liked some things his family does - like say the fighting and deal making. He went into acedemics and fell in love with weird history and decided to pursue a career in studying weird things, which led him to return to his mother's home town and look into the local history.

Well that's what he says, but anyone with ties into the mob/underground would have heard rumors about some vicious fighting going on and that as an outside - ie someone who has no dealing with the dirtier side of the business - his presence back home would mark him as an easy target. This far away he has a chance at seeing trouble coming and handling it a lot better. And once his personality starts to come into play things will get interesting.

Open/Wanted CR: All of his family are open. I'm thinking he has a sister and two brothers plus there are
his parents and more. Someone who knows his mother's family or used to hang out with her would be fun too. Anyone with mob ties looking out for him, anyone with mob ties trying to protect him are open as well as boyfriends and girlfriends. I actually would laugh if someone apps Hina or other members of OOO as his family because of reasons. Or other members of the Greeeds as family pets.
Anything else? Ancient angry pile of animated coins being fully human is fun don't you know.

Chad's household is an (likely Italian) mafia household, so perhaps we could do something with that?

My best idea right now is that Chad's Family knows that he has Yakuza ties and is watching him carefully because they think he might be trying to establish "his" syndicate in Mossgate. So while Ankh wouldn't know that, he would know Chad because he's just so happened to be walked by wherever Ankh lives and works quite a lot (aka Chad's Family uses walking him as an excuse to put Ankh under surveillance). He's probably usually been walked by the same person to not get suspicious?

Which is kinda funny since he's actually this nice and bumbling kind of kid ~~that is until his Ankh personality kicks~~ who really thinks that his family is cool and is so much an outsider to all the shady things. Also he does have a habit to climb trees and perch on things ~~one of the traits that he has from his original self I think~~ so he can always be in a tree and Chad could always be barking at the person in the tree if you want some interactions starters between them?

Pre-Incarnation: Caramia / Ozmafia!!

A short blurb about your character's AU:

Okay, full disclosure here I have a specific thing I want to do with this character. Trying to keep a long story somewhat short: Ozmafia is an otome game where a bunch of fairy tale and storybook characters inhabit this town that is essentially run by rival mafia families. He's the boss of the Oz family and is actually the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz. The events of that game take place post wizard visit so he actually has courage.

But my intention in this game is to start him without his courage and regain it later. Basically this means that a few months into a the game, his personality will takes an abrupt u-turn from scared of his own shadow to completely fearless.

Anyway for the Au I'm thinking he grew up in either Moss manor or Tarwich. Canonically he enjoys reading and is really good at cooking so I'm thinking either he runs a book shop or works at a restaurant. Basically I'm still working out a lot of details so let's plot things!

Open/Wanted CR: Family would be great? I'm a huuuge sucker for crazy cross canon au families, so siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc etc would all be lovely. Also friends, because dear god someone needs to drag this boy out of the safety of his house every now and again.

Anything else? I'm waffling between this and Isaac who I will put up shortly. Help me decide? ~~Tell me if this idea is too dumb and I should come up with something else.~~

Also I am god awful at coming up with au names. Any help on that front would be so much appreciated.

... If you go for the book shop option, Walter would definitely know him. Even if computers are more his domain, he loves to read.

Pre-Incarnation: Isaac Morton / Devils and Realist

A short blurb about your character's AU:

Isaac is an enthusiast for all things supernatural. While in the au he has never seen any actual evidence of ghosts, fairies, magic, etc, he really wants to believe. He's started a club at his school for hunting down evidence of the supernatural and spends a lot of time chattering about it on his blog. Because everyone needs to know about that one time he totally probably almost saw the Grey Lady of Moss Manor, right?

Open/Wanted CR: Family? It would be lovely if he had some parents or siblings he could embarrass on a regular basis. Also any members of his ~~really stupid~~ club would be so great. They can go on ghost hunts together.

Anything else? Currently deciding between this and Caramia.

About how old is Isaac? If age works (she's 46), we could perhaps have him be Marja's child if you bring him in?

He's 15, so the age works. And he also studied magic in his preincarnation so that could make regains interesting. (mostly summoning magic and he was really irresponsible about using it.)

Marja's canon self is so very /sideeyes towards academical/scientific magic types. On the other hand one of her two specializations is spirits, so...

Let's play with that on the tdm then and see how it works out?

Pre-Incarnation: Luke Skywalker | Star Wars Legends
A short blurb about your character's AU: Born in Kansas and raised by his aunt and uncle, young Luke flew the family cropduster and yearned for adventure, idolizing his deceased soldier father. When a friend was conscripted into the Vietnam War Luke, a dumb teenager, eagerly signed up. He came back without that friend and having lost his right hand and most of his impetuousness, in the middle of a crisis of belief.

From there he had a long life of ups and downs. At one point he had a crisis of faith that led to joining a dangerous cult headed by a Palpatine expy who'd been his father's chaplain. With the help of his sister and a DEA agent named Mara he got out. Later he testified against Paul Patine.

Luke wound up joining a non-creedal, highly liberal denomination (Unitarian Universalism) and settling there. Eventually he went to university, was ordained, gave sermons. He and Mara married when Luke was in his late thirties and they had... probably two children. They were very happy, even as age advanced and they both started to decline.

A year or so back Luke got word of an opening in Mossgate and decided why not, it seems nice over there. Moving to another country and continent was harder on him than he'd expected - Luke is always a little overly optimistic - but he's been settling in. He's in his mid to late sixties and holding up okay.

Open/Wanted CR: What positions in your character's life are open? What are you especially looking for? What random ideas could be fun?

Adult children who may have young children, or his sister's grandchildren who could be any age
...I'd love someone to be Mara and could go with another name but I have to decide if she's dead, separated, on some kind of a case, or someone to be NPCed

Walter's relations with religion at this point are... wonky, to put it mildly. Long story short there was a cult, and he and his family were stuck in it for ten years. BUT Walter's matured/been in therapy long enough that he's not going to throw shade Luke's way.

Not quite open to conversion or anything, but he'd probably pop by and listen to the sermons every once in a while?

Ah, cults. Sky knows how that goes. (not really, he was out of it relatively fast) They do suck though. That did affect his later choice in denomination, he soured pretty badly on people claiming to know all the answers and imposing them on others.

Cool, cool. Sky's got like. Hippie sermons about love and persistence and the bonds between people, and vague spiritual feelings.

Pre-Incarnation: Remilia Scarlet/Touhou Project
A short blurb about your character's AU: From a well to do English family with some Norman ancestry, Emily Scarlet is 21 and still unsure what she wants to do with her life aside from continuing the family business. A little arrogant, but capable of being pleasant bi girl that's gotten too complacent.

Open/Wanted CR: Has a younger sister already, but generally open to ideas... Family members, boyfriend, a girlfriend, anybody else...?
