Hereby, we proudly present the game information for Save our Earth, which is going to open on June 15th. There will be monthly, and then bi-weekly, updates until game opening, so feel free to follow our plurk or track this community!

Character/AU/echoes/etc questions

If after reading the game information you have queries about what characters/AUs/echoes/etc are possible within the rules, please ask here.

This is for big questions which need to be answered before you can start developing plans for an application, such as "is this character appable" or "can an AU like this be done". A proper post for character/AU/echoes/etc questions, where more detailed questions can be asked, will go up in March.

So this character and the partner I have planned for her were originally a PC/NPC duo from a Pokemon Tabletop United game. While it was based on Pokemon as an existing property, the setting was a unique medieval fantasy one, with no reference to any canon events, although the legendaries did exist. Would I need to rewrite their preincarnation backstory to not include Pokemon at all, or would they be fine? (I have the original DM's blessing to play their NPC as well.)

Also, for combo apps, do they have to share an account as well, or can they have separate accounts?

Since Pokemon Tabletop United seems to be an unofficial fan created system, characters from it fall under the We do not permit original characters from closed canons rule. You would thus have to rewrite the preincarnation backstory to not include Pokemon at all, and treat the characters as full OCs for app purposes (aka you would have to briefly outline the world they live in as part of your canon history).

Instead of omitting the pokemon completely, you could also file off the serial numbers and keep "legendary animals with special powers", or something to that end, as long as they are not recognizable as pokemon anymore. Any other canon elements (characters, setting details) would also have to be unrecognizable for characters from Pokemon canon.

It's up to the player if combo characters share an account or not! All they have to share is an info post.

While you may link to that information, you may not use it as a substitute for necessary information (compare the way in which this sample application's history links for detailed information, but still gives brief explanations for everything that it links).

Also, something that you probably already know, but we'll mention it just to make sure: If you quote anything, please clearly mark those passages/sentences as quotes, as otherwise we'll have to reject your application for plagiarism.

Your character can be anything, it says, and includes gender, but I wanted to confirm if it's possible to play a genderbent version of a character, just in case. If yes, is it any different if the character is a fictionalized historical character? (The one I'm thinking of in this case has been dead for 110 years this coming November so no problems on that front at least.)

Are the villages included in the area the characters must be living/long-term staring in or is it only the city that's permitted? Can they live anywhere within the echo boundary? I think so, but this is also a just-in-case sort of question.

All characters, no matter if they are based on historical figures or not, may be genderbent for their reincarnation. Just apply common sense and tact, and you should be good! [As a note, as you can probably guess the impact of the difference in gender on the personality (for example due to different social expectations when growing up) is something that we want to see mentioned under Any differences? in the Personality section of the application.]

Yes, the villages are included! The character can stay anywhere within the six-mile radius around the mouth of the Moss River that constitutes the Echo Boundary. Essentially, the guideline exists to make sure that people naturally spend a good amount of their time within the area where their echoes can activate/be active.
