The All-Purpose CR/Plotting Meme



The meme is open to, as per always, making arrangements with and between:
- Current characters in game.
AND
- Potential characters - any characters you may be planning on apping or reapping (there is a special header for this under the main post).
If you have an app in that has not been processed, please, don't be shy about commenting around for prospective CR and plans on entry - though, of course, remember that plans will be tentative!

For ideas, please consult the plot digests and/or the locations/soft facts page.

For characters of either status, toss up a comment with your character's reincarnated name, pre-incarnated name, canon, and occupation in the subject line. E.x. "Cinderella | Rarity | My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic | Family Pet" In the body, of course, place any information you see fit; go on ahead and use this form if you'd like a place to start or take it however you feel!

Easy Ins for prospective characters

If you have open positions in your characters life that are flexible and you'd like to fill with player characters, please respond to this toplevel using the following form (more than one time, if you have more than one distinctive position):

This is by no means meant to be a complete list of all possible CR. It is simply meant to be a starting point for players of prospective characters to find current characters that they can connect their AU with easily.

Position: Owner
Any specifics: Male, member of an Italian mafia, a bit like the babysitter of the rest of the Family, built the Mossgate outpost and has been there for at least six years. Officially the accountant of the restaurant that acts as the mafia unit's Front.

Position: Boss Couple of the mafia unit Chad lives with
Any specifics: The Boss Couple are an Italian woman and a man of flexible origin, who have a lot of children and came to Mossgate a few years ago (less than six). They are the owners of the restaurant.

Position: Members of the Family Chad lives with
Any specifics: Mafia members are male. They're mostly Italian.

Position: Dogsitters
Any specifics: Chad is a handful and his owner is a busy man, so sometimes he needs some dogsitting. This role is probably fulfilled by pupils and students.

Position: The person who owner the Kennel that Chad was born at and lived at for many years.
Any specifics: Breeds white Pomeranians. Sometimes keeps one or two to train them up to go to shows with them.

Position: Sibling! Specifically a sister.
Any specifics: ... Admittedly I've specified a lot; her name is Haley, she was born April 12th, 1998 while the family was part of a cult, which they left in 2005; she has since grown beyond the cult and is now studying oceanography. The family is a generally healthy one and the siblings are on good terms.

The rest of her personality, likes&dislikes, and general history is free-range, though!

Position: Other former/surviving cult members
Any specifics: Can be any age/demographic, really. Does the cult still exist? Who knows!

Position: People Walter befriended in uni - peers, professors, etc.
Any specifics: Will probably not work out well if they try to get him to visit London again. =P Parents apply to this one, too, since they currently live in London, but that can change.

Sam Stone | Stone of Indigo Cloud | Books of the Raksura | Retired American Airforce/pilot instructo

Location(s): Just about anywhere? He's retired, and he likes to wander, especially at odd hours
A blurb about them: A grumpy old American airforce pilot who occasionally teaches piloting in his bitty airplane. He granddads aggressively at people, and has a small hoard of grandchildren, plus his daughter in town. He's also fairly recently turned gray all over, which requires he wear make-up all the time when in public, to his great annoyance. In his original life, he was a dragon-shifter alien, though still a grumpy old man.

Open/Wanted CR: Really he just kind of wants to adopt everyone. And boss them around.

Hooks: He reads some, he babysits the grandkids (the ones who still need babysitting, anyway), he is going to try and volunteer at the police station to keep an eye on things, he likes going out by the beach when it's warm and sunny, and he does go to the graveyards regularly to visit various graves, including that of his wife. He can really be found just about anywhere, though, following various scents around the town.

Plans/ongoing character plots: There's the police station thing, and also he will be involved in tracking important stuff around town come the next mingle-event thingy, per the last plot digest.

Anything Else?: Nah :) Come meet the grumpy old man

Position: Grandkid.
Any specifics: Sam has been stated to have a number of grandkids, mostly (entirely?) adopted. This comes with auto-CR with his current two in-game grandkids and his daughter (their mother), so coordination with all four players would be good :) Age range anywhere from 6 to 20.

Position: Adult child.
Any specifics: Sam's adult daughter lives in town, but he does have a second child, gender and name currently unstated, age in his or her 30s to 40s. I'm open to a lot of options here!

Location(s): Bookstores, libraries, high school places, various places around Mossgate
A blurb about them: High school exchange student from New York, who is also an aspiring mystery writer. In his previous life he was a famous high school detective, and he's slowly starting to get interested in solving mysteries for himself.

Open/Wanted CR: Anything, but especially fellow teens to hang out with and friendly adults to mentor him. People to argue with, too. Jimmy is starting to get involved in the investigation plots too, so people to do investigation things with would also be great.

Hooks: Tourism type places and new experiences, since this is Jimmy's first time outside of New York. Libraries, bookstores and coffee shops. High school events.

Plans/ongoing character plots: Long term, goal is to make him a detective again. In the sort term, hes getting more and more interested in investigating all the strange things going on, even though he doesn't really have the skill or experience to do anything yet. Other plans... to accidentally publish a short story based on some of the memories he's echoing back. Oops. Also to expand his CR.

Thom Knight | Takato Matsuda | Digimon Tamers | Student

Reincarnation: Thom Knight. Very tentatively. I'm still tossing names around.

Location(s): local primary school, around Moss Manor
A blurb about them: Just a really nice kid. With a digital firebreathing baby dinosaur dragon thing as a partner, which he sort of created. Also the two of them sort of saved their world from a rogue program that decided it was going to delete sadness from the world by deleting everything.

That's going to be fun to echo back.

Open/Wanted CR: Still trying to work out the details on his reincarnation. But he'd probably going to need family members, neighbors, teachers, friends...

Hooks: Primary school, art things, geeky things.... Also thinking of having him be a volunteer at local animal shelters.

Plans/ongoing character plots: I'm planning on doing a combo app, and bringing in his partner Guilmon as his pet dog. Who will quickly be a talking pet dog. Tentatively, he'll be a big friendly labradoodle named Gizmo.

Geeky things! Or: another of those younglings that Walter's inadvertantly become friends with due to knowledge of his computer skills spreading around.

Alas, he's never really owned pets (likes them, but hasn't personally been responsible for one's care; same for his sister), so he'll have no idea what to make of Guilmon once more of his Digimon nature starts coming through...

When Sam starts with the neighbourhood watch, his daughter will very much encourage him, because yay for dad getting out and socialising that really is a thing he's qualified for with his background, isn't he, and it's very useful for the Numbered =D

Location(s): On the network, at his job, at the theatre, sometimes accompanying Chad on walks around Mossgate, and sometime just anywhere that he can stare meaningfully at scenery
A blurb about them: Russell's an aspiring actor who used to balance a couple of part-time jobs, but finally decided to go full-time and put some funds aside in anticipation of looking too skeletal for a job. It's put him out of some of his hobbies and out of the loop of some of the network things, and he's cranky about it.

Open/Wanted CR: I would love for some of Russell's more ordinary friends, from theatre or uni or just knowing them around town, suddenly got involved in all this

Hooks: Russell posts videos to the Network sometimes, so there's a good chance of other numbered folks recognizing his face. He's related to Ben and friends with Sadie and Walter, meaning he's on the edge of a lot of plotty things as those three do investigating into everything going on, and meets various numbered people through them... He's still involved in the theatre troupe in Mossgate, people of a similar age from Moss Manor might remember him from school, people who went to uni in London several years ago might know of him or Walter.

Plans/ongoing character plots: He's slowly gaining memories of a militarized monster underground and basically nothing of an alternate childhood, and he's turning into a lich or skeleton or something. So he's pretty sure necromancy was involved??? That's not great.

Anything Else?: If me posting a week late isn't an indication, I'm good with backtagging

Pending the okay of the other family members, but... There's three slots left in Mary Ann's biological children group. One child who is younger than Nel, and two who are older. The only things that are set in stone for those kids is that they are Mary Ann and her wife Janice's biological children, that they live with the family in Moss Manor, and well, the family members. The family is middle class and has American roots, the kids have been born and raised in England and... that's pretty much it?

Would you be interested in that? Then I could ask the rest of the family.

Location(s): Parks; Candy shops; his mask shop; any place that sells faerie anything.

A blurb about them: Rini loves faeries and wishes with all of his heart that he could be one. So, he collects faerie paraphernalia and dresses vibrantly to match it. He also writes storybooks for children and is well-published. When he's not writing stories, he makes masquerade masks for his little nook of a store. Rini loves children and will try to teach them to make flower rings and faerie houses if given the chance. Overall he's sweet and full of smiles for everyone. If you recognize him as a writer, he'll probably gush about faerie tales at you.

He will have moved to Mossgate from the Netherlands, as he's looking for specific family members. I'm toying with the idea of either his parents who gave him up at birth, or a long-lost brother with a single parent situation. I'll say he's been here about half a year or so.

Open/Wanted CR:
-Family members; brother, parents, additional siblings/cousins if he's not an orphan.
-FRIENDS! Please give him some!
-Boyfriend? Previous boyfriends? He's 35 but still looks 20.
-I'm also open to any suggestions; if you have an idea, bring it to me!

Hooks:
-Parks are inevitable. He gets inspiration for stories from flowers and watching children play, and may even be showing people how to make Faerie Houses, or reading to them.
-His little mask shop. He runs it for a few hours a day, but he's there to spread joy and accepts commissions.
-Candy shops. He apparently has a sweet tooth from Hell. And yes, you can expect him to share.
-Any place that sells faerie anything. He's obsessed with them, so yea.
-It's not unusual to see him wear faerie wings while he plays in the flowers, either.
-He has a white cat named Mocha, that will follow him around. Good kitty~ Feel free to approach it.

Plans/ongoing character plots: If he likes you, he'll probably drag you to his house at some point for tea and sweets, and you'll get to see all of the faerie hoarding in his abode. Expect potential questions about possible family members, if he happens to find any leads on them.

Rini can be wearing Faerie wings, and they get bent when he falls down, so he's pouting while he's also fretting over if Walter is okay.
